Book Sales
Where do the books come from for book sales?
Adams County Library’s collection is in a constant state of change. Books and other items are withdrawn from the collection because they are damaged, out of date or no longer circulating. This keeps the collection fresh and useful. Books are also donated. Some of these can be added to the collection; the rest are put for sale.
How is the money raised by book sales used?
All proceeds from book sales are put back into the book fund and used to buy new library materials.
When and where are the book sales?
Dates for the book sales will be announced on the library home page and are posted in the Library. The annual book sale is held in August.
How much do the books cost?
Most items are $1.00. Paperbacks are 50 cents. A few books are individually priced.
Are books for sale at any other time?
An ongoing book sale is available at the library on a table in the entryway.
Honor with Books

- An Accomplishment
- A Graduation

- A Retirement
- A Birthday
- A Memorial
You will help the Library while celebrating those special moments that mean so much. Your gift will ensure that the Library continues to build its collection for the education and enjoyment of the entire community. A bookplate is placed on the inside of the book acknowledging the donor and person being honored.
